and depressed! OMG!  I can't stop crying.  I am 2 weeks out today and feeling really bad.  Not in pain so much (thank God) but just a general feeling of blah like I am getting over the flu.  How long does this usually last?   I just got advanced to my "mushie" stage yesterday and I'm hoping the variety of food helps.

Hi! I too am 2 weeks out. I am not in too much pain, just my left side a little. Last week I felt like I was getting over the flu. I would say listen to your body. Rest, sleep. I take atleast 1 nap a day because I get tired easily too. Our body went thru alot and needs lots of recoup time. I have cried here and there, especially when my family is eating normal food and I am not. Im not interested in food but man it smells good and I miss chewing lol. I hope when I go in tomorrow for my 2 week check up I will be able to move up to mushie foods :) Keep your chin up and remember it will get better!

I think what you are going through is pretty typical - work your way through it with rest - a hobby - keep busy and it WILL get better - you've been / and are going through a big physical change and your emotions are trying to catch up !!! Vent here if you need to  - cry - what ever it takes let it out and know that is will pass. Hang in there !

I am approaching 3 weeks, and i went though the same thing. I am starting to realize that as long as i keep pushing forward by walking and taking all my supplements i generally feel better  and better with each passing day. Hang in there.

Anesthesia really does a number on alot of people.  I haven't had my surgery yet, but had anesthesia last year for hand surgery.  It took almost 3 weeks until I felt like myself.  Everything you described.  Have you been taking enough B12?  I  can tell when I forget to take it.

Hope you're up to your old self soon.  One day at a time.
Good Luck

Totally normal!! Just take it one day at a time, dont try to push yourself too far, you had major surgery and it takes awhile to feel back to yourself.  I had a good day of crying myself and couldnt explain to the hubby why I was sobbing uncontrollably. We have all be there my dear and are here for your support.

Call me if you need anything

I had a break down in the supermarket at around 2 or 3 weeks out because I was too tired to walk around and pushing the cart was OUT of the question.

You're normal, and it gets better.  Just keep napping and sipping!
