Xpost: 1st goal reached!
So I have done it and reached the goal I set for myself. I have officially weighed 175 for a full week! I have lost 151 pounds in total. I started this journey at my highest in June 2009 weighing 326 at my first surgical consult. I started changing my diet and working in exercise and lost 46 pounds before surgery putting me at 280 on the day of my RNY October 7 2009. Now 7 months in I have lost 105 pounds since surgery. I did the math while taking a walk yesterday and realized if I loose 12 more pounds I will have lost exactly what I would weigh 163 pounds. So I continue on and will be at a healthy BMI soon, I'm still overweight according to the charts but even if I stopped here I and my surgeon would consider my weight loss a success. I am off all my meds, have so much energy, my cholesterol is low normal, my blood pressure normal, sleep apnea gone, (PCOS pre surgery) testosterone level is actually low! I feel fantastic, can fly on a plane, walk around without stopping to think how I look or plucking my shirts out. Just wanted to share that I am feeling great and while things are not always smooth sailing this is certainly one journey I am glad I had the courage to begin. Good luck to everyone else navigating this new life!
