Thanks to all of you for all your comments and suggestions. We are going to the information session at each one.
The one thing I don't like about N/W is I have to pay them at least $100.00 cash the first time I am seen. It is non refundable. What if I don't like that surgeon and decide to go somewhere else? I don't get my $100.00 back. That to me seems a bit much. I understand if you commit to the program but if I don't like the surgeon I am certainly not going to commit to them.

Though I did research other surgery methods, I personally don't know any other program besides the one at Tufts Medical Center; that was as far as I got because when I researched their surgeons I was sold!
I choose Dr. Scott Shikora as my surgeon because he is by far the most experienced surgeon on the program and he has received several national awards including being named President of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. During my visits to the center I also met many of his patients and they ALL praised him.
Also, Dr. Stephanie Powers is one of the Clinical Psychologist on the program (not a medical doctor or surgeon) and she is very good!
However, it all comes down to where you feel more comfortable.

At Tufts I wasn't required to pay the $250 Program Fee until I had been to Immersion Day; hopefully by then you will know where you feel more comfortable.

Thanks for the replay. I'm dropping Newton-Wellesly. It doesn't seem to be in the cards for us. everytime I schedule an appointment something comes up that makes it so I have to reschedule. I'm going to take that as a sign. we're going to Tufts new patient program tonight. Also with N/W you had to pay $100 right up front before I even saw anyone and if I didn't like tham ... too bad it was non refundable. I didn't like that much.
It's a toss up between BMC and Tufts. Hopefully after tonight I will be able to noarrow it down a little more.
