I have the GIC insurance through the Commonwealth as a retired teacher (specifically, Unicare Indemnity Plan with CIC).
I was wondering if anyone else who has had the gastric bypass surgery has this insurance and did they pay for your surgery.

I too have GIC.
However it is the secondary payer if you have Medicare.
Since I am over 65 and was eligible due to my BMI and co-morbiditys Medicare paid.

No, too young for Medicare.
In addition, I switched to the LAP band in my surgeons recommendation.
