I've noticed a few south shore people posting about meeting.  Do you have a support group going?  Can someone fill me in and hopefully invite me?  :)  My surgery date is in two weeks and I'd love to get to know people in my area.

Hi! Not sure if ours is the meeting you are referring to but if it is - here is the info.

We meet in Bridgewater on the last Monday of every month at 6:30.

I will PM you the address - (am I being paranoid?) lol just feel like I shouldn't but the address on here - lol

And consider yourself invited ! Happy to have you.

Thank you!  I'm not sure if that's one I'm talking about either but I live in Taunton so Bridgewater is right near by.  :)  How many people do you have?  Are you all post-op or...?  My surgery is on Feb. 9th so I'm a newbie.  I"d love to connect with others in a more informal environment.

Um, paranoid?  No, you can't be paranoid enough on the internet.  I had some weird guy from Craig's List CALL me at home because I'd mistakenly left my full name on my return email.  Yeeeek!

Hi, it probably is our meeting that you've seen posted about - I was just looking over the posts and ours is the only one I've seen so....... And Taunton is nice and close - we are actually meeting tonite - last minute so don't know if you can make it but......

How many of us well lets see - generally about 8-10 of us regularly there - with another handfull that pops in from time to time - and generally one or two new people each month.

Most of us are post ops - but we've had pre-ops attend and have their surgery and we currently have one woman who is pre-op so........ you'll fit right in.

we are less formal than the hospital ones - we don't have a set topic - although might be a good idea - we generally are a comfortable group that just goes with the flow - we've tried recipes at meeting, protein drinks, we even made Med ID bracelets at one once. lol We have fun !!! And I have to say I think we have a pretty knowledgable group so if you have questions (I know you do) bring them on !!!

Lisa

Ughhh ok I feel better about not putting the address on here after your Craigslist story - ughh.

I just had surgery on Jan. 19, 2010 in Boston.  It is impossible for me to make the monthly support group in Boston for 6:00pm.  Morton Hospital has a Gastric Bypass Support Group ,fourth tuesday of every month open to everyone.  I plan on attending starting next month.  I live south of Boston.  Good luck with your surgery.

Thanks for hte update, Krisnet!  I'm close to Morton so it would be way easier for me to join in there rather than in Boston too.
