Four days post-op -- My abdomen seems bloated -- Need input
I have been home since Friday, doing the blended diet as directed. I also took a half-mile walk around the block yesterday. I feel fine with one exception. My abdomen, in the surgical area, seems bloated, feels a bit numb when I touch it with my fingers, and feels like there is fluid under the skin. I have no fever. I don't want to be a worry-wart, but was wondering how others have felt. I plan to call my doctor's office tomorrow morning, but in the mean time, it would be helpful to receive comments from you folks.
Thanks so much,
Lisa

Congrats, Lisa! You are normal!
You've been pumped with air, fluids and had your innards rearranged. There is bloating and swelling as a normal course of action.
Definitely call the surgeon (you've got a GREAT one, as far as I'm concerned), because if you think it's weird, it's always worth checking on. They'd rather you call than not call!

Hi Sue,
Thanks for the advice. I talked with Sally and she assured me that what I am experiencing is normal. I need to slow down on consuming both water and my blended soups. Adding broccoli to my soup was not such a great idea because it causes too much gas. I have my one week check-up on Friday.
Thanks again,
Lisa
