Getting Scared!
Ok here I am at 7 months post op-- I have lost 97 pounds and 20 more to go. I feel fantastic!!! I take in between 60-80 grams of protein a day usually more at the higher end and range betwen 600-800 calories a day. I started to religiously work out everyday last week and burn @ 300-400 calories on the treadmill. I am now hungry!!
Today I had:
2 protein drinks 20 grams of protein each 220 calories for both
1 Isopure drink 15 grams of protein 90 calories
1/2 of peanut butter sandwich on high protein bread 12 grams of protein ??? calories
5-6 strawberries ??calories
a snack size cottage cheese 90 calories
1 protein bar 15 grams of protein 150 calories
2 pieces of rolled turkey ???calories
Ok-- i am feeling like a pig!!!
I get up at 4 to be at the gym by 4:20 and don't know what to do??
Am I eating to much? Should I be able to eat this much? I am feeling scared, frustrated and very, very nervous.
Please help!!

Congratulations! I'm pre-op, my surgery is Tuesday.. I'm scared for other reasons! LOL! I hope in a few months I'll be in the same place you are now!!!
I've heard people at support meetings talk about this, and what I've heard consistently is that people should try to wean off of the supplements and depend more on actual food. So instead of having so many protein drinks, try having a low fat string cheese, or a strip of grilled chicken, or a serving of peanuts or walnuts or something. Maybe give that a shot and see how it works for you? I'm not sure where you should be at for calories, but check in with your nutritionist, too, and make sure you are getting enough calories, especially now that you are burning so many.. that's like half your daily intake of calories, that's not leaving you with much to keep you charged. I know it's scary to start increasing calories when you've had to work so hard.. but this is part of taking care of yourself and maintaining long term success. You'll find the right balance. Maybe cut out one of your supplemental shakes and add a food protein source for a couple weeks and see what happens. And if that goes well, and there's no weight gain, try eliminating another shake and adding in another protein food source.
Keep up the good work!!! You're so close to goal!! Good for you!

Im not an expert, but my doc told me to hit 700 cals...I usually only make it to 600 if I am lucky...but I think we should be between 600-800 for the first few mos, and then 800-1000. You are further out than me, but I dont think you are eating too much.
COngrats on doing well! I am hoping to start a 5 am gym routine...4:20..Wow!

I would try to be getting 1000+ calories. Especially when you are burning so much at the gym. Please talk to your Nut for advice on this.
I follow a workout with those little Isopures..protein after a workout is a great idea!

I think you're doing fine. A growth in hunger is normal, but making sure not to switch to bad foods is always a worry. Make sure as your exercising to get in enough fluids throughout the day and during the workout. Using your pee as a good indicator - too yellow means you need more water. The one exception to the pee rule is taking any B vitamins (or multivitamins with B complex) as this will artificially turn the color of your urine.
Remember protein first - and you'll do fine.
