X post headed to Tufts/Dr. Stiles and am *nervous!*

Hi MA neighbors!

I'm headed to Tufts for my MD visit today and feel so nervous.  When I started out I was so excited, then hit w/ a bad lower back problem AND an MS scare -- still not fully resolved and no definitie dx.  I'm also still reeling from a v. difficult year my dd had at college AND aging parent probs.  Stress off the chart. (Is this whining or just venting?)

Part of me wants to flee, part of me KNOWS I have to go forward.  This is ALL bad for my health and the weight only makes things worse.

I'm set to see Dr. Stiles and would love some support and kick in the butt to get myself over there!

Thanks!

WLS won't make those problems go away, but for sure will help you have the energy to deal with them.  There isn't a better feeling than knowing you are taking care of yourself.  You can't take care of anyone else until you are ok (that's what they tell you on the airlines!).

So go to Tufts and make another step in the process.  Just take everything one step at a time!

Thanks everyone.  I had a good visit.  The only disappointment is that because I had signs of MS
(no definitive dx) my doc at Tufts wants neuro clearance.  And she says she suspects the neuro might only OK the band (RNY causes too many abosoption probs should I need intensive doses of MS meds in the future).  I wasn't even sure about which surgery I wanted, but now I feel a little
pigeonholed!  It's especially frustrating because I had signs of MS, but not enough for the neuro to say "you have it."  I also don't fit the age range, etc. blah blah blah

Ever forward!  Thanks again!
