My mother is very old and my daughter is 20. I see us like those Russian wooden nesting dolls, you know ... just infinitely inside one another, but the older (bigger!) ones protecting each smaller one?
My mother lives a few hours away. It's often hard for me to get to see her. Your post has changed that. What's 3 hours? She's an absolutely amazing woman. I know I won't have her much longer - she's in her 80s. I need to spend as much time w/ her as I can. I only wish I could convince her to move closer to me ... my stubborn father stands in the way of that ...
