Just got my surgery date!!
Hi Everyone,
I just got my surgery date--- June 8th. Needless to say I am very excited. I have been reading a lot and asking questions but for those of you who have gone through the surgery -- any helpful hints to get me ready for surgery and the few days following?
I appreciate all of your support!

Congrats! You are going to be so happy with your surgery. The best advice I can give you is follow all of your doctor's instructions.
Collect samples of protein drinks - powder or ready-made (or both) and try a few out. I went to GNC, Vitamin World, Vitamin Shoppe and ordered stuff on-line, got samples from support group people... all kinds of stuff. I tried some pre-op and had plenty to try post-op before I invested in buying anything in bulk. Anything I don't like I have just sample packets of and can give away to newbies like yourself at my support group meeting.
get your work, your bills, your life in order so that when you come home you don't have to worry about anything.
Stock up on Tylenol since that's all the pain relief you can have for headaches, etc in the future.
I started a collection of reusable water bottles with measurements on the side. Helps keep track of how much I drink every day. I made sure they were all dishwasher safe too.
The week before my surgery I had a massage, a manicure and a pedicure. worth every penny. It's all about YOU, feeling better about YOU and a healthier YOU. Do whatever you think is nice for yourself to help you relax.
