Welcome!  I'm right next door to you in Dartmouth!

I'm almost a year out (surgiversary on April 1st).  My RNY was done by Dr. Lautz at Brigham & Women's.  If you have questions - ask away -- this is a very friendly board.  (But not always very active -- don't feel bad if it takes a few days to get a response)

Best of luck to you!

You are more than welcome (really) to post here, and I encourage you to do so...there's a wealth of wisdom about the local doctors and insurances and just general support.  I also posted on the board my month of surgery... November 2008 - where you can talk with people who are at the same place you are.  Those time related boards are great for sharing... though non-date-specific boards are where you'll hear more words of wisdom (and calming of any panic).

Best of luck to you!

Hey,

Congrats on your decision.

I too am pre-op...I have a surgery date, and have about 10-15 more to lose to hit my goal for surgery.

Any questions or issues you have, absolutely post and ask away!

May you find all the support that you need.

Just started to recognize that I am eating like a normal person...not that I will ever be normal again...why be normal!?! I am not writing everything down.

But, I know before the surgery, I had begun a notebook where I wrote everything that I ate down.
I would say...that is one of the tricks of this lifestyle...know what you are eating...is is good for you?

I let March 3rd pass without thinking it was an anniversary of sorts. Perhaps because it was one of my daughter's birthdays...which is more important to me than 14 months surgiversary...

May you be successful.

Linda
