One Year Follow-Up Visit
I had my one year follow up visit with my surgeon yesterday. Dr. Partridge had nothing but good things to say and she's very pleased with my progress. She said to continue what I'm doing. I've lost 77% of my body weight and they only expect 60-70% so I'm way ahead of the game. They took a new photo of me and WOW what a difference. I looked like I was 20 months pregnant in my pre-op photo (and no I'm not exaggerating). The dietician said that I look like a competely different person. If she didn't know better, she never would have known I was the same person. They also took my measurements. They had my waist at a 59 and now it's a 33. My hips were a 54 and now they're a 39. My neck was 14.5 and now a 12.
What a difference a year makes. I love my RNY!!!
It'll be my one year Surgiversary this Saturday.

Kendra - I love reading your posts and also seeing your pics ! You have done a great job and deserve many Congratulations. Although you have had a roller coaster ride with things happening you still remain so focused and energized ! An inspiration for sure !!!!!!!! Your family must be so proud of you.

Hi Carol,
Thank you. I have had my share of issues, but none were WLS related (other than the hypoglycemia last week--which was an isolated incident).
I do try to stay focused, but do fall off the wagon every once in a while and I do eventrully get up, dust myself off, slap myself in the face (saying what the hell is wrong with you to myself) and jump back on the wagon.
My family is very proud of me and I am proud of myself too. I do get discouraged from time to time but I think that's normal. I say if I get to this point, I'll be happy. So I get to that point, I'm happy for the moment, but then I want more. I think that is just human nature. Will I ever be truly happy with myself? Had this discussion with my surgeon Wednesday.
Thank you so much for the congratulations!
