Calcium Citrate choices

Hi everyone, I need options on the calcium choices.  I have the horsepills that i imagine will be easy enough to take 4-5 months out, but until then -  What do/did you take in the first few weeks and months? Dissolvable?   Chewable? Where did you get them? At one point is swallowing pills reasonable and comfortable? Thanks, Julie

I did Chewable Caltrate for the first couple months.  I know it's  calcium carbonate, not citrate, but that's what my surgeon recommended.  After about 3-4 months I switched to the big pills.

So you can take large pills now and they don't bother you??

I started out with Viactiv chews which I had also done pre-op.  Since a month out I have been ok with large pills.  Everyone is different though.  If you have a few pill form vits on hand you can try them when your surgeon gives the go ahead.  Then you can decide what you want and but more of what works better for you. 

Hi Cher, that is promising that you were able to swallow pills in relatively short time.  Stuff like that is where I still feel uninformed.  By the way, I saw your pics, you look awesome.  You are a beautiful girl with or without the wieght loss, but I know you must feel great now.

I do citrical petites.now they are easy to swallow. right after surgery i was taking the citrical chews (yuck to me) and i got some  cal citrate losenges from bariatricadvantage.com. nopt bad, kind of reminds me of canada mints. cinnamon and cherry flavor. Another one I used often was Tropical Oasis Liquid calcium. Several places online sell it. not bad at all.

I'm with you, I don 't love the citracel chews, but I have three flavors to break the boredom.  I'll try the others too..Thanks!
