Need help finding DR in MA

Hi there!  Another testimonial for Dr. Randall.  I live in Maine and it is 1.75 hours each way for me to get to the office, but entirely worth it!  I researched the doctors in Maine and the Boston area and I felt like I was in good hands with Dr. Randall. I love the support meetings and Erika the nutritionist is outstanding too.  I only have my experience to judge things by, but I am very happy to have found Dr. Randall. I did gain weight between my first visit and surgery which of course is never a good thing.  Dr. Randall seemed to understand that I was working on things and didn't give me a hard time about it, which initially I really worried about.  I didn't have to go on a liquid fast either although I checked at three different appointments that this was real. I know it's a common protocol for surgeons to require that 10% weight loss.  I initially went to Brigham & Women's in Boston.  I felt there that if I didn't loose that 10% they wouldn't even talk to me.  A very different feeling there. I thought that with an obesity surgery that there would be a little more understanding from the Dr. and I didn't find that until I found Dr. Randall. You could always make appointments with both doctors that people recommend and see where your gut takes you.  Good luck! Amy

Hi! I am currently pre-op but I am going through Dr. Hess at Quincy Medical.  He is very caring and engaging and definitely listens and answers all questions you might have.  The surgery would be done at Boston Medical right off of Mass Ave. but you do have the option to schedule most appointments out of Quincy Medical which is a little closer than dealing with all the Boston traffic.  I would recommend the team so far, everyone I have meet has been great and the appointments and scheduling has been very smooth.  They do ask for you to lose weight prior to surgery, I am not sure how much but I believe it is 10%.  Good Luck.
