HOW LONG FOR PUREE FOOD DIET STAGE

Hello, I'm just curious how long the puree food diet stage lasts before you are able to start eating regular food again:  salads, fruits, vegetables?

It depends on your doctor. Each doctor recommends a different amount of time. My Dr. kept us on puree food for a month after surgery.

Hi Jenn, I just saw my NUT yesterday for my 6 week check up, and I can now start on cooked veggies, and skinless or canned fruit.  No salad for a few more months.  The mush stage gets old very quickly, doesn't it!   

 Thank you for your responses!  I see my doctor next week and I am praying he will let me add some cooked veggies or anything else into my diet!  I will beg him if I have to!  he is very nice so I am sure he will let me do something. Thank you for your responses!!

Jen, When were you banded. I also have Dr. Hess and was banded on 06/20/07. I am going to my first post-op appt, 07/09/07.  The paperwork I have from Natalie the nuitritionist is Stage 3 Liquid Milk Products 2-3 weeks after Day 3 of surgery. Stage 4 Puree says 2-3 weeks after discharge from the Hospital for a duration of 4 weeks. I hope this helps. I am willing to stay in contact w/you. Maybe we can help each other w/questions.
