Hi All- I have been lurking around for the past 2 weeks reading the great information and personal experiences, and finally decided to jump in and join today! I have come to the decision that WLS is the best option for me. Now the waiting and prep! I attended Dr. Ameri's support group this month and have made my first appt. I could not get an appt with him until July 13th :(. I am disappointed that it is so far away. I am wondering if there are some things that I should be doing in the meantime. Are there tests or other specialists that I should see? I was hoping that there might be an "intro packet" with the expectations for the program so that I could be preparing before the July appt! I would hate to wait until then to even start the lengthly process of tests and evaluations. Any ideas? Thanks

hi clare. i feel bad that no one answered your post. it's important to feel welcomed when you first arrive here....so welcome! i see that your from new hampshire. have you gone to the new hampshire site? my experience was very quick. of course it didn't feel it at the time, but now that im three months post op it really flew by. my first appt with the doc consisted of him, the nutritionist and the phyc eval. all in one day. i had to attend three classes. then at the pretesting appt, right before my surgery was when i had tests done. oh wait, my first appt, they did do blood. they must have checked for stuff. i was very healthy and fat! lol. no comorbids. i actually cheated with the weight a little. i was off by five pounds and i was not going to get denied for that so i stuffed crap in my pockets. i just want to wish you luck and please come to the boards anytime. it may take us longer to answer you, but we'll try. theres a lot of good people here. good luck!
