posting my avitar(photo)

Can anyone help me with posting a photo. Although my sister emailed one to me that says 91 pixels it won't load. When I try to change the size it just becomes distorted and blurry. Anyone have a suggestion? I'm not a computer person so type slow-LOL!!! Jennifer
