First of all happy hoildays to all. I had lap band surgery 12/1/06 and to date I've only lost 14 lbs. I have been at the same weight (fluctuating between 1-1.5 lbs.) for a couple of days. I am advandance to soft pureed, diced food for 2 weeks. I tolerate this diet well. I don't think I am eating too much, but I admit my protein intake is not up to par. My first post op appt and fill is 1/8/06. I though I would have lost more weight by now. I started at 233lbs. now 219lbs. Am I stuck, losing slow or am I being unrealistic in my expectations? Take care and good luck to all

I am not sure as to details on the lap band expectations (you may want to post on the lap band board) but you are considered a light weight and typically light weights lose slower, I assume it would be the same wether it was RNY or lap band. Good luck and Happy holidays Gwen

Jane you definitely aren't stuck- being stuck means nothing will pass past your band and you'd need to throw up to move the obstruction (which means what's stuck). You haven't had an adjustment yet so the fact that you've lost 14 lbs is fantastic! Be patient- you'll need to find that 'sweet spot' which means that your band will be adjusted enough so you can eat and tolerate food but loose weight. With the lap band you won't loose weight as quickly as someone who had bypass but you will still loose so be patient with yourself and congratulate yourself on making the decision to have WLS!!
