HOW LONG OF A STAY??????

I m scheduled for a LAP RNY, how long will the hospital stay be if I have no complications>>>>Dr. Janie Pratt at MGH is the surgeon. Any info would be great as I am a single parent and I need to make arrangements for my little girls. I also have no parents so.....this is going to be quite a task. Thank you Linda

Hi Linda, I had my lap surgery at Brigham and Womens on the twelfth, walked not long after I was back from recovery, and did so well they thought I could go home on the second day BUT, after all that walking and such, I was really tired and my husband suggested I stay the extra day to make certain I could tolerate the fluids you have to take po. I was glad I did even though I really missed everyone. My husband couldn't visit because he had to stay home with our three little ones, but I put it out there that if any friends could help me out, I would be greatly appreciative. They were all very supportive. Also, my church..Do you have a church that could help you? My kids were scared to death something would happen to me and it took a few days for that to settle in once I got back. Today I walked three miles but I am still very tired....Doing ok though and so will you....Good luck..

I had a lap RNY at Tufts-NEMC in October. I stayed 3 days/2 nights...I had no major complications.
