NWH - New Patients?

Anyone else a newbie at Newton-Wellsley Hospital and going to the new patient orientation tonight? I am going with both my mother and my grams. Let me know!

Hi Angela, I see you are from Worcester. I live in Webster and am getting the surgery at UMass Memorial (Weight Center). If don't mind me asking, why are you going to the NWH? I am originally from Newton and lived up the street from the hospital. It is quite a ways from Worcester and UMass has mtgs. 2 times a month. The 1st mtg is the orientation and the 2nd is the surgical. I've been to both and have had my medical intake. I'm scheduled for the nutrition and behavior intakes in Dec. The process is moving alot faster than I thought it would. Hope I'm not being too intrusive. I just know what a pain it can be driving that far. If you would like any info. abt. Hey Shawna! Oh going to NWH was a personal choice. I know all too well about the programs in worcester. I am already a part of the Fallon program here but I've been in it for two years and Im still waiting for a surgery date. I just thought that because Ive already been through so many programs elsewhere- NWH was the fastest way to go. And Im finding out I was right. I called them this month for info and already have a consult with the surgeon Nov 15th. My mom too. They dont rush anyone into surgery but seeing as how Ive already been in a program for two years- they know Im ready. But thanks tons for the care and concern! I appreciate it!! Hi again Angela, It looks like you already decided with NWH. Who is your surgeon there? Also to let you know I got my surgery date apx 1 week after the consult. Unless you have a particular date you want. I have a friend going in on 12/14 So It will be probally around end of Jan or Begining of Feb. They allow you to pick a date and if its available then they will give it to you, just look 10-12 weeks from the consult date. They also do surgerys on Monday Tues and Thurs. Good luck, you will do fine, just be aware the first appt can be a little long. Let us know what happens Jess
