Wanted to let the community know that Newsweek is hosting a Conference on Heart Health in association with Harvard Health Publications. This occasion is scheduled for Monday, October 23 at The Conference Center at Harvard Medical School located at 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur in Boston. The informative program begins promptly at 2:00 P.M. in the amphitheater of The Conference Center and includes panel discussions featuring HMS faculty and other experts from the media and health fields. Our editors Dan Klaidman (Managing Editor), Alexis Gelber (Director of Editorial Special Projects), and David Noonan (Newsweek Senior Health Editor) invite you to join our exclusive guest audience at this upcoming event. The topics discussed during this forum will include the latest in research, preventative approaches, treatment and breakthroughs in heart health. In addition, we hope to examine how health care costs might impact services and treatments available to patients. Also, if your schedule permits, we hope that you will be able to join us beginning at 11:30 A.M. for a special luncheon discussion with Elizabeth Edwards , author of Saving Graces (Random House, September 2006) and spouse of Former United States Senator John Edwards of North Carolina. Newsweek Senior Editor Barbara Kantrowitz will conduct a public question and answer discussion with Mrs. Edwards regarding her recent battle with breast cancer, perspectives on treatments and her travels throughout the United States learning about public health issues of importance. There will be an informal book signing proceeding the lunch discussion. Please note that the attached evite does not include our most current scheduling addition, including the special luncheon discussion with Ms. Edwards. Newsweek also is pleased to have Thomas Lee, M.D., Professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital as the moderator of our second afternoon panel, Next Frontiers in Diagnosis and Treatment. Seating is limited, so I look forward to accepting your R.S.V.P's to the event. You can RSVP to Amy Butler at [email protected] or at 212.445.4156. Many thanks for your time.
