Cape Cod Support Group
Hi,
Thought I'd take a few minutes of your time to tell you about the WLS Support Group meetings we have here on the Cape.... We meet the second Thursday of the month at Cape Cod Hospital - in Hyannis, second floor in the Martin's Conference room at 7:30 till 9- 9:30. We look forward to seeing new faces and welcoming familiar ones as well..... it doesn't matter what stage or point you are at : pre- op , post op or just a concerned person - all are welcomed !

We'd love to meet you and your husband- My husband John and I both had RNY last winter - mine was Nov 7th , his was Dec 19th.... I 've lost 103 lbs so far, he's lost 90. We've been talking about taking a day trip to Nantucket this next month for our 2nd wedding anniversary special trip... maybe we could meet for coffee or something or even meet you over here sometime .... I'm sure you and your husband are full of questions... -- Yes we'd do it all over again - it was worth it !

Hi Joyce, that is so great about the group! I am hoping (and it is a long way off) to move to the Cape in 2010. WHY? so long from now? I got a grant on my house in 2003, where they do fix ups on duplexes that are older homes if the income (only me) is low enough. I got the grant, they did $60,000 dollars worth of work, but if I move out of my home before 7 years is up, i have to pay a prorated amount back- ugh
but my dream is to live on Cape Cod, near Brewster (where I grew up vacationing - at Hopkins cottages) and find a Fisherman, Handyman or some wonderful man to marry. I am 36 years old and overweight, so I have never married. I have always wanted to be happy with me first and THIS is the TOOL I need. I am SO ready to work my (bleep) off! to be happy....and knowing there are resources on the Cape make it all worth my while
Joyce, can you tell me what types of things could you NOT do right when you got out of the Hospital? I have my mom and good friend Ray and Jen around to help out, because I live alone, but I just did not know what to tell them I will need help with.
THank you!
