A probably totslly unnecessary reminder!

On your wedding day, you will be stressed, excited, chatting while eating, having a few drinks. A recipe fir disaster! Even if your band is not tight,

Be VERY mindful! Last thing you want is to have to rush to the bathroom and return red-eyed with streaked mascara!

have a great day!!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

As Hislady says - don't worry now!!!

As to whether it matters long term, that may depend on your current situation. If you are happy with your current weight and restriction, you don't need fills so it doesn't matter. My last fill was in 2007! But if you do need more fills, then it may matter! The only way I know to reposition a tilted port is by surgery, but I  wouid guess it is not a major operation.

Topic: RE: How Ofter Lap-Band Adjusted?

There is no 'shouid".  We need adjustments as and when fat under the band decreases. For some this happens quickly, for some slowly.  Some people have a lot  of internal far, some have very little. And once all the internal fat has gone, the band shouid theoretically not need adjusting.

my last fill was in 2007.

I realize I have not had my lap-band adjusted in about 2 years. Is that normal? I am happy with my eating/weight so haven't felt the need for it to be tighter or looser. How often should it get adjusted? Yes, I could call my surgeon, but his office is closed tonight!

Except, I'll never make it there. I got my band removed today and revised to a sleeve!

i will always be grateful for the band because it was what my insurance would cover 100% five years ago. I never would have lost 94 lbs without it. I couldn't lose 10 lbs to save my life before the band. It changed my life forever and taught me so much.

But out it was not without it's complications and since my current insurance will not cover anything related to it, even if case of an emergency, I decided to revise.

I hope oped that my sleeve gives me the success the band did before it started wrecking havoc on my body.

Just wanted to to say hello and update those *****member me from way back.

And if you're looking for an excellent self pay revision surgeon, I would highly recommend www.endobariatric.com.

Highest Wt: 274 / LAP-Band Low: 180 / Sleeved at 233 / Goal: 160!

Hang in there!  I agree, there are many who love their band, but for every one with success, I bet there are two who have major issues.  But, as long as your band is not bothering you otherwise, you have a chance!  It's just that darn "sweet spot"... I hope you find it!!!!

Thanks! Yes I'm trying to not stress and enjoy my wedding planning and wedding! I looked into it and my insurance won't cover a fix if it's surgery because I'm no longer morbidly obese. My insurance will cover if they take out my lap band but that's it. I'm hoping it's just something I can deal with and won't need surgery to fix it.

I don't think it is an urgent type situation, it needs to be addressed eventually mainly for your comfort with fills(as you found out ). It just will mean more painful fills and unfills untill it is fixed. By the way relax and enjoy your wedding! The more you stress the more chance of feeling tight if so stick to liquids for awhile to calm your tummy.
