Having chest discomfort!
I was banded 1/2011 and have loss about 40 pounds. The last 4 months I have been having some major chest discomfort, indigestion really not sure what the problem is. I did go back to my surgeon and had a CT that showed my band was tight but this has happened all of a sudden. My doctor removed 2cc leaving me only 1.5cc in the band. I thought I had 6cc in my band not sure what happened with the difference in cc! I did notice for a few weeks some relief but it has started back again. Has anyone else had this problem? I didn't have allot of success with the band but don't want to gain back any weight. I'm really considering having it removed the pressure is really bothering me.
Any comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
I had the same problem and had to be completely unfilled. That's the only thing that took care of the chest pain. I considering having it removed cause it's worthless now. Just don't know if I'll revise or not. Good Luck!

It could be a hiatal hernia. Perhaps you should be checked for that?
The diaphragm plays a big part in banding... the Vagus nerves run from the base of the skull down into the top portion of the stomach. If those nerves get irritated, it can cause some pretty severe chest pain, most often in the left side- middle- even up into the neck and ear.
Take care. Hope you feel better.

It looks like the doctor thinks I should have all the fluid taken out. Thursday they will empty and see if things settle down. It's strange how this just came on all of a sudden. I haven't gained any wait back and still feel restriction! I will have to think on having the band removed and what my next step will be if any. Weight loss is a hard thing and it shouldn't be. Thanks for comments and suggestions.
