having bad removed 08-31. im so ready but getting anxious!
I had my 10 yr old lapband removed in August 2015. I had it put in in TX, and removed in KY. I joined a gym, hired a trainer, and work out 8 times a week, burning over 1000 calories per workout. I use my fitness pal to log my calories which average 1400/day. I haven't lost 1 lb. it has to be because of the removal surgery, but I'm not giving up.
Having any bariatrics surgery is a mistake. Just do it the right way with diet and exercise. This removal was a nightmare, I feel like the KY Dr. just butchered me, the scars are horrible, and I just wish I had never had it put in.
i go to a gym where the owner lost 480 lbs, (yes you read that right, he was over 700 lbs!). They teach us to eat whole foods, nothing processed, and their "beast mode" class burns over 1200 calories. I plan to keep working out and eating whole, healthy foods. I'm confident the weight will come off.
oh i am so sorry to hear the removal was hard on you! I only have good things to say about my surgeon. same one who put it in took it out and i feel so much better. I'm using my fitness pal right now for my medical supervised diet. i know me though i will need to have another surgery. I will work out hard and watch what i'm eating but if I don't see results i have a hard time keeping it up! im frustrated right now because on my fitness pal i am under the calories every day and yet not loosing much. my scale is off from the dr's office about 6 lbs so i figure i have lost about 2 lbs in the last month and thats including my surgery where i didnt eat anything for 2 days and very little for the next week.
i am learning that low calories is not what i need to loose. i need to change everything i am eating!
I had surgery to remove Lap Band. I had been suffering for more than a year with pain and bleeding. My regular doctor told me it was a bleeding ulcer. I had the band out and they found it eroded through my stomach and massive infection. I almost died. My insurance will not cover the surgery. But to your question. Even after that horrible surgery that lasted 6 yours, I felt better the next day than I had in a year.
