I am considering a revision
I am 3 years out with Lap Band all was good till February. I have had a lot of problems this year with tightness. Would like to know where would be the best place to get information on a revision. I am thinking I need to give up on this band and move on. Any information you can share would be helpful. I have talked to my doctor and he just keeps me coming back for fill and un fill. Thanks June
Hi Grandma! I had my band for 3.5 years. I had it removed 9/4/12 and was sleeved 1/22/13. Best decision I have ever made. I am doing great.
Check out the Failed band group and the sleeve to Band groups.

Can someone tell me if we can edit our posts. I don't see how to do it any longer.
I can't post in Private Messages either. I can read them but I can not respond.
So for anyone I did not respond to, please forgive me. It will not let me.
If there is a way to do either I would appreciate the help.
TIA
I would first recommend getting the tests done to determine what's going on. An upper GI and/or an Endoscopy will let you know if you have a dilation or slip. Once I started playing the fill/un-fill game I never got the restriction I had early on. I ended up having a pouch/esophagus dilation which lead to me having my band removed this past May. The reflux I was experiencing was serious and it just wasn't worth it any more. I am thinking about RNY revision because the Sleeve is not a option with chronic reflux according to my surgeon.
Get the facts first and then you can make an informed decision. The revision forum is a good place to go as well as the failed band forum, but remember, everyone's experience is different.
Best,

GrandmaJune: I didn't do the fill unfill thing. I just keep it really loose. I know my doc said that fill/unfill just stretches it out like a balloon and then you have a hard time getting restriction. I don't know that I ever had it anyway.
Lisa, I would have to be a RNY also. I thought about it and decided I was afraid to do that. How are you doing keeping the weight off with out the band?
Actually a Revision after the Band is becoming QUITE COMMON, since a majority of people have experienced complications and never really accomplished what we were told would happen with the band A good idea , like mentioned is to go to the Revision part of this Board and check out the different Weight loss Surgeries. GOOD LUCK
Thank you for adding me to your group. I tried to reply to the message you sent giving me links to Facebook help. I also tried to post in your group but it will not let me. When I click on reply I get a blank blue screen and I can not type (any help you can offer would be great). I am not sure why I can post here. But not reply to my messages or post in your group. I will keep trying maybe its a glitch some where. In the mean time I will continue to read as much as I can. June
