Talk to your doc and see is liquid is an option or if your pills can be chewed/crushed. It sucks to have the feeling of them being stuck. I am unable to take pills
Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16
Some people never have a problem. But others, like me, do. I am not too tight! I can eat and drink all foods, almost never bring anything back. But pills are an issue. The first year I had no problem, then, for no obvious reason, I did.
I can swallow very tiny tabs. Anything of any size whatsoever has to be soluble, crushed, liquid, cut up. I hope I never need anything slow-release! It doesn't really make sense as I can swallow pieces of food I haven't chewed all that well, but not capsules or tablets.
It is important not to let them dissolve above the band as many are specifically designed to dissolve in the more acidic environment of the stomach and can cause irritation and damage if they dissolve slowly at the base of the oesophagus.
Because of this, many bandsters choose not to take any risk and avoid swallowing any whole tabs.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
