I am so having my band removed! I am 5 years out and have had so much pain and discomfort. My surgeon is a jerk so i want nothing more than to be done with him and the band. However i do not regret having it but i do feel its time to say goodbye to it! 60 pounds still off so it does work! I just cant take the pain and not being able to eat fruits or veggies with out an issue! Or even cold beverages!

Go to another surgeon.  Especially if you want to revise, not just get the band out.  That's no way to live.  Been there, done that, I probably have a tee shirt to prove it.

If your surgeon isn't taking you seriously enough to try to figure out what's wrong, he's likely not going to get an insurance approval to remove it.  Self-pay for band removal tends to be more expensive than band placement.

I have a gi doc and two other docs that say i should have it removed! I agree ! he will get it approved because i will fight tooth and nail. I cant live like this! Im in pain every day and eat about 500 cal a day! not even enough to produce a bowel movement. I have to take meds just to keep my intestines moving. And more still not to throw up the little i do eat!

Any way you can get another surgeon.  I don't think I would want him to touch me.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
