It sucks that when we think we're stuck, we did something wrong. This feeling is what I thought was being "stuck". It's not, it's food sitting in my esophagus because the sphincter at the gastro esophageal junction won't open due to nerve damage from my band.
This is painful, depressing and humiliating at times. I'm in constant discomfort and an elevated state of anxiety over this.

I sure hope they can get you fixed up Steph and much sooner than later. Yep had I known then what I know now I'd NEVER have done this to myself. Being fat wasn't that big a deal to me it was docs that said I needed to lose because of my lung issues. Yeah that helped alot.

These stories make me shake my head in disgust. Yes! I have been blamed too!   Wanna know what part is my fault? Believing the medical community and choosing the worst possible doctor in the world.

I am so sorry for your food issues everyone. I'm on the opposite end . Broken band and its still in me. I WANT THIS THING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, ASAP would be good, but I have a few things going on. A mini remodel, trip to the lake next week, then a week at my sons house looking after his 15 year old while they go to hawaii for their 24th anniversary.  I committed last fall.  I can get it out after may 10th.

I am so sorry that you are suffering -- and that due to prior commitments you won't get relief for a while.

I hope and pray that you will be able to stay hydrated and nourished while you wait ---- and I wish that you will have strength and peace while you wait things out.

Thanks Kath, I really appreciate that.  I ge****er in and I'm eating a low residue/low fiber diet, so getting the calories in.  It's just hit or miss with eating.

Revision on 08/21/12

While I agree that using the same date would be fitting, at least for you, I would get it done the day after you finish your obligations. At least within a week. I would not suffer a moment too much. Realize that after your band is out the healing will only begin and you may take a long time. Get the process going. I did my revision 2 weeks after insurance approval and only went that long  because of my surgeons schedule.

When my surgeon told me my band had to come out I was crying and said "But I love my band and I need a tool"! His answer was that when your tool is harming you it has to go. Don't make yourself wait.

I wish you well and a rapid recovery, though I wish you never had to go through all this.
