Poor Manometry Results

Had the nasty test and I have severe achalasia, but won't know more until the doctor sees the report.  There was no peristalsis and the esophagus just distended more and more with each swallow.  I told the RN who did the test that my doctor is concerned more surgery could cause more damage...her reply, "I don't see how it could get much worse..."

**** I'm sorry.

I know you have to trust your surgeon, but damn, I'd want that band out. I know that I was told that the damage was done and having the band removed wouldn't necessarily help. I'm glad I didn't listen or I'd be dead now.

I wish you'd get it out, Steph. It is damaging you. It needs to be removed.

Truly sorry that you've had to go through all of this Steph, I'm praying things will get better.

Thank you all.  It's a scary Dx with the other GI symptoms I have.  There is talk of ruling out things like MS, ALS, etc.  I say lets get the band out and see what happens.
