Back at it after four years and gaining back 45pds.
I was banded in May of 06 and lost 135 pounds in the first year and three months. Over the last four years I have gained back 45 of those pounds. Getting the band was the best thing I ever did for myself. I did this once I can do it again. I have started following the rules again and working out five days a week. Anybody who said drinking with your meals does not make a difference I am here to say it did for me. That is one of the biggest ways I gained my weight back. If I eat and drink I can eat almost like a non-banded person but as soon as I hide tha****er bottle and eat, I can not eat much at all. I stared this four weeks ago tomorrow and have lost 12 pounds already so I know I can do this again but this time I will maintain my healthy lifestyle.
I can totally relate to weight gain. I was banded 11/09 and lost 107 pounds in 10 months. Over the last year I have gained back about half. Haven't been on the scale much lately, too hard. I have lost all my excess weight several times in my life, but never been able to keep it off. I realize now, I never made it a lifestyle change. I too, plan on maintaining it this time.
Way to go getting back to basics. Do you journal too. I found that to be the number on tool to get me back on track. It is amazing how much you can do one bite here and there. Seeing it in Black and White helped. Also I needed to weigh regularly (everyday for me) When I didn't you wouldn't believe how fast 30/40 pounds can sneak up. Those LB jeans sure can streeeeeeeeeeetch.
It's so good that you acknowledge the problem and make yourself accountable. We can "lie" to ourselves sooooo easy at times.
That's wonderful 12 pounds! I can't wait to hear how it goes the closer you get. I had gained a little more than 10 lbs., and I started tackling it over the holidays, took me 3 months. And while 10 pounds doesn't sound like much, it's a real ***** to get rid of!!!! But I did it! And I can hear it in your post that you will do it too!!!!!
Plan to post pictures soon,

Exercise is not a LUXURY!
Exercise is a NECESSITY
I can personally RELATE, I was banded 4/09 lost 80 LBS Kept it off for 1.5 yrs went through allot of LIFE stress, divorce etc... and Regained all that 80 plus another 5-10 lbs.
After things settled down I went back to the Surgeon and restarted my WL Journey 4/2012 and I've lost 90 lbs since then and I'm 15 Lbs from Goal Unfortunately ...I've been having problems that I didn't think were related to the Band and see my Surgeon this Friday to discuss them. I had a Horrible case of Food Poisoning in 10/12 and I THINK my band slipped because since then I've experienced issues with Severe heartburn (even when drinking water) so we took fluid out, and the heartburn was gone, But I also have severe stabbing and burning pain in my Left shoulder and since my last fill 1 month ago the heartburn is back and I have trouble eating ( no matter what I eat it's uncomfortable) to the point that I've lost 20 lbs in a month and the heartburn is back ..... I'm hoping that I won't have to have the Band removed but to be honest I don't see a solution to the PAIN that I have in the shoulder since I've seen a specialist and it's not related to or caused by anything else.
BUT I have FAITH that you can Do what it takes to get on track !!! GOOD LUCK!!!
I got my band in 2010 and did not loose but 60 lbs, I don't think that I ever followed the plan as I should have, I have gained back 15 lbs and I am to the point that I want to try this again and see if I can get it right this time because I know that it works. I have not been to my Dr. in over a year but on Monday I am calling to see if he will see me and help me get back on track. Wish me luck.
