Lap Band Removal Recovery - Eroded Band

The Lap Band has good advertising, doesn't it? It's not truthful, however. "Reversal" is just a sales pitch. A human body is going to be affected by its presence and there's no "reversing" the damage the band does. I'm so sorry you also went through this.  The only thing we can do is try to help others avoid the same fate. I'm glad you shared. 

dan,  My band was in for about 2 and one half years.   It was taken out in march of 2012.  I had my VSG in jan 2013....My doctor was concerend that a pouch may be left from the band, but there was NO pouch left from the band....   There was however scar tissue on the stomach from the band.   My doctor said he was concerend about getting a good seal on the scar tissue, but so far I have no leaks.    So,, at least in my case after about 9 months my stomach had a normal shape except for scaring.  Good luck.

You might have some luck if you click on the "Find a surgeon" right up on that dark blue bar across the screen. I think it might give you a list of surgeons in the area.

I didn't have an eroded band but, I did have the normal damage and after getting it removed I had more restriction than with the band in and unfilled.  I think if I remember it right, it was a 2/3 months before I noticed it didn't feel like the band was tight in my chest.
