Well...I was at my ideal size for about 4 years, I am trying to get back down to a size 10 at least, I think for my height of 5'7 that worked great for me.

What about you, what goals are you trying to reach?

Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*,  lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!

Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight downsmiley

I don't know what size is my ideal...whatever size I am when I get to my goal weight of 160 lbs (I am 5'9").  When I get there...we will see what size I am.

Wow Crystal you are 5'9, you looked so small in your last picture post, you've done so well with your band! I know sometimes we don't know how satisfied we will be until we get that "ah moment" I got that moment when I squeezed into a size 12 Lee Jeans....about 4 years ago....that was a good feeling....You've done so well, I don't see why you would have a problem reaching your goal.

Maybe I didn't look tall because I was leaning on a half wall that separated the family room from the kitchen. I wasn't standing. I should have stood because it looks like I have a belly roll in the picture because I'm sort of slouching. Next time I will stand with my back straight!!! Hahhaha

I am 5'6 and 180lbs. I am a size 10/12. I'd like to be a size 6. I think with 20 more lbs, I should be.  I've had a lot of plastics with my Gastric Bypass back in 2004 and 2006 that held up well through my regain and my BOB in 2011.  I put on 10lbs over the holidays bc I was sick - from the steroids and weight gain.  This was the first week I felt normal again and started back to my 5mi a day walks and hopefully I can get the weight off. I am happy where I am if I never lose another lb but since i've been through regain, I'd like to get lower to counteract that.

You guys have done great! I too am surprised you are so tall! I am 5'8" and my doctor wanted me at 160, but I am at 184 now and am really comfortable (other than all the excess skin) and in a size 12-14. I think I will try to lose another 10-15 and see if that is comfortable and hopefully a size 10-12. Now I am just going to have to save up for pastics. Comfortable is a state of mind and I don't know that I will be truly comfortable until I don't have to look at the past (all the skin).

I am extremely happy with my progress and my band so far!

Wow! SueBee, you've been quietly working the heck out of your band among all the band bashing.......I've watched your awesome success. Big congrats to you, all your hard work has paid off!!!

Thanks NanaB! There is still good support here, you just have to not let the other stuff bother you. I understand that people do have problems with the band and I do want to hear that too, I just ignore the nastiness that some times comes with it. People are human and have tough emotions during bad, painful or stressful times. I could only imagine if it happens to me how I might feel.

Hey Heather!

Where the heck are you walking in this weather??? It is freezing and I dread it (guess it ain't about me!).  We've been real lucky though and now it is finally winter until  . . . . next week .  I hear it's going to be in the 50's maybe.

I love walking - I usually do Prospect Park just a couple of blocks from where I live or Central Park a couple of blocks from where I work.  I heard you post about walking the bridge too.  When it is nice I walk the Brooklyn Bridge.  I used to do that all the time but now it seems like a huge tourist attraction and way too busy and closed in from the construction.

We should meet up and walk some time!  Hope you get to feeling 100%

Best,

Layla

Layla -- I was born in Brooklyn (Flatbush) -- but moved to Long Island when I was 6 (and then out of NY when I was 16)

I remember my mom talking about taking us to Prospect Park but don't remember ever being there.

I am in Tucson now and am enjoying my afternoon walks with the dog (between 65-85 degrees this week) ---- I will be looking for shelter in a few months when it is 115 degrees!!!
