My lapband story
I've spoken to three doctors locally who unanimously agree that the band will be phased out. One of them said he spends more time in the operating room repairing damage from them and removing them.
I hope people who are considering the band will take note of this. Thanks for sharing this info.

Thank you all so much for the support, I wish OH had a like button lol.
I just hope that by telling my story that I can help someone avoid the complications that I have had, if the surgeon would of told me to chose skinny or lupus well we know the answer to that. It is what it is, and I am mad some days when I cant get out of bed, or the days when my kids need me and I just cant be there. I am a fraction of the person that I was.....I don't want sympathy just want to share what has happened to me and to move on from here. I still don't know where I fit in life anymore and thank god I have the best counselor in the world helping me to find the new "normal" whatever that is for me. Now I am a religious person and had not been for god I would not have made it through the past 18 months. I know he loves me, and this is his will for me and I will accept that.
Hugs,
Jen

Wow I am so sorry for your misery! No matter what experience we go through, we all wanted this for many of the same reasons and no matter our outcomes, we should feel free to share.
I came back to this forum to share my success story and I am completely terrified at what I am reading here. Got mine in '07 and I have had no problems, and have even kept my weight off. I'm scared to death now! Is this thing a ticking time bomb or do some people do ok with these long term? YIKES!
