From my doctor
Well said! Every procedure has something! You could have had a "boob job" and had leakage , allergic reactions, infections, or other problems. SURGERY is SURGERY!
What your doctor has said, mirrors what my doctor also says and believes.
Thanks Kate : )

Exercise is not a LUXURY!
Exercise is a NECESSITY
I don't criticise other surgeries.
i don't promote any surgery as being perfect or even better than any other surgery.
i simply posted the view of an extremely highly qualified and experienced surgeon who teaches GI surgery (not just bariatric surgery) at a leading teaching hospital/university and who has no axe to grind or money to make from his views. No-one has to do anything in response to his comments.
But i do claim the right to post on this board to say that banding is not the work of the devil and that in some countries, for example the UK and Australia, it is considered by the medical profession (in a non-profit making environment) to be a viable and relatively safe procedure

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
Thanks so much for sharing that, Kate. Of course, I always like to hear confirmation of my own views of bariatric surgery. It'll be interesting to hear the results of the UK BYBAND study later on.
