What are you eating today (Thursday) or yesterday?

When I got to work yesterday afternoon, the table in the break room was piled high with leftover holiday treats: cookies, potato chips, candy, more cookies, cupcakes, more cookies...and no one was eating them, not even the college kids who ordinarily will snarf up any and all free food. Seems like everyone is tired of holiday excess, and that's a good thing.

Today's food plan:
B: protein latte
S: oatmeal w/ applesauce & walnuts
S: banana w/ peanut butter
L: black bean burger w/ cheese & tomato
S: raw sugar snap peas
S: popcorn
D: leftover roast beef w/ caramelized onion gravy, apple & cabbage slaw, corn popover
S: peanut butter banana chips

I haven't eaten much popcorn in the past 5 years. It used to be a favorite of mine, but when I was banded I didn't want the husks to jam up my stoma or form a bezoar, and other sleevesters have said that the husks can get caught in the sleeve staple line, but a recent EGD showed that my staple line is well healed so I think I'm OK in that respect. Anyway, at work last night a coworker nuked a batch of popcorn for her break and the smell was wonderful, so I popped some for myself when I got home. It tasted good, but I found myself spitting out the husks without even thinking about it. It seems like the husks I was swallowing heedlessly for 50+ years are repellent to me now. Strange.

Today's exercise is a Pilates/yoga class. I sure need some stretching. I woke up with a headache on the right side of my head and stiffness on the right side of my neck going down to my shoulder. I may give my chiropractor a call this morning.

Have a great day!

Jean

3 days of sensible eating and exercising is better than you were doing before, right? So don't knock it! Tomorrow you'll have 4 days to brag about.

Yes- taking it one day at a time.  Thanks so much for your encouragement.  I hope you know how much you bring to this board.  You are always right on point.
