I had lap band 4 years ago and I have been very successful I have kept off all my weight (130 lbs) 280-150 untill the last 5 months in which I have gained up to167. Christmas is now over so back to it!! I'm not quite sure how to start. I heard someone talk about a pouch test can someone fill me in on that. I haven't been on this forum in a while because I felt terribly mistreated because I had been successful but I'm willing to try again for support. I know I have to loose this now. Any suggestions on where to start.

Personally I don't believe in the 5DPT. It's just a temporary diet. Assuming that you still have restriction, just don't drink with or at least 30 mins. after meals. Try to use smaller plates. Do high protein, lower carb, fat and sugar. Also limit liquid calories unless it's a protein shake or occasional fruit juice or smoothie. Liquid calories are often overlooked. Good luck.

I haven't heard of a pouch test. Our doctor's office will recommend to some to "detox" by doing two meals of protein shakes and one meal with lean protein and veggie (like preop) - for 5 days. Gives you a chance to get off sugar and carbs and reset. Best wishes for your restart - if it helps, 17 pounds seems very manageable. You've had great success, this doesn't undo it,

Get back to the basics.  Watch your drinking before and after.  Journal and weigh/measure every bite and drink.    When I journal and weigh I lose, when I don't I gain.

Good luck!

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

I'm sorry you felt mistreated during your previous visits to this forum. You're not alone in that, but some of us are dedicated to rebuilding the band forum as a safe and supportive community, so I hope you'll keep coming back.
