strange euphoria

Hi. I have been banded for 2 1/2 years now. I thought I was imagining this for the longest time now, but every time I eat a meal I get this strange euphoric feeling that lasts for about an hour. Does anyone else get this and, if so, do you know what it is? I may have to ask my surgeon.

Thanks,

Jen~

The Vagus nerve, which also causes the dreaded left shoulder pain, can also cause syncope... and feelings of euphoria. Some people get this feeling when they take a poop, even. It's related to the Vagus nerves. Crazy, huh?

The band is in close proximity to this nerve, so it probably gets "activated" more than what would be "normal.

Thanks for replying Nic! Very interesting. It's almost like the feeling you get when you are exercising for a while. Kind of like light headedness. Should I be concerned?

Gosh, I'm not sure if there's cause for concern or not, Jenny. You should probably address it with your doc, though, to be on the safe side.  Does it happen every time you eat? Or is it a once in awhile type of thing?

I was having(sounds like this) and found out my BP was being affected.  You might want to check it after eating, just a thought.
