Bruising around port site?

 Is this normal? The nurse told me yesterday, after I got banded that if my skin looked bruised or purple to call, but I don't want to overreact. Thanks in advance.

I think a wee bit of bruising is to be expected. Mine did for the first few days.
My dr said not to worry unless it turned red or hot to touch. If concerned, ask your dr. Remember, they cut so it has to heal. I am sure its fine.

I agree with Hagarfan. I'm almost 5 years out so I don't remember a lot. I do remember the port area being bruised and the most painful of all of the incisions too. Not red or infected but probably sore since the port was just underneath. It'll feel better soon!
