The truth, no one here can truly tell you what your best choice is, you have to just arm yourself with as much information as possible and then make the decision that feels best to you. No matter what you choose, there is a risk of complications, unwanted side-effects, and failure.
In the end, uif you aren't comfortable with something like an RNY, do not let a surgeon talk you into it! Your body, your choice.
Personally, part of my rationale when I chose the band was that I wasn't prepared to have major changes made to my GI anatomy if I could accomplish waht I needed to without those changes AND the fact that, since regain after WLS is far from common, I wanted to leave my options open in case I should need to revise later. There aren't many places left to go to from an RNY or DS.
Your long term prognosis with the band is unpredictable - a little more unpredictable tham most WLS since results can vary so much. The best possible advice I can give is to look around a lot, read a lot about possible risks and complications of both the band and the sleeve, and then make your pros/cons list for each. Yo have to be the one to decide which risks are the most acceptable to you combined with your concerns about having a more drastic GI surgery.
Lastly, this is an odd thing to consider, but I mention it often, if you have a strong family history of cancer you may want to choose your surgery especially carefully. More and more cancer drugs are in oral forms and not recommended for use in anyone with an "altered" GI anatomy (any surrgical resection of the stomach or intestines).

Dev: that was one of my big concerns. That IF, God forbid, somewhere down the road I need my stomach and/or intestines intact, I'd like to still have them that way.
