Hello everyone. I'm new here, but I've been reading the post on the Lap-Band procedure. I was super excited to get this under way, now after reading about the problems some of you have had, I'm not as enthused.

I know there are risk with any type of procedure I chose, but I would hate to have to go under again.

Any word of advice would be appreciated.

REALIZE Band on 03/08/12

I'm scheduled on the 8th to have my band done. Getting scared too. After going through all this, I just want it to work. I don't want to have all the side effects that others talk about. I have heard both sides. I just hope we are the lucky ones and it will all be worth it in the long run. I think like many say you have to work with the band and not expect it to do it alone. Good luck.

Lap Band on 01/30/12

I had your same feelings after reading all of this stuff, but I was so prepared with the several people I have met that. Have been successful that I wasn't going to let it bother me.

I am 32 days post op now and am happy that I did it and am down 36 lbs since Christmas.

Go with what you are comfortable with and know that it takes work, but I am very happy!

I know several people who have had success as well. I'm praying I have no band drama. I could use the extra help from the band.

I requested the Realize band. This liquid diet is the worse! Everything around me at work smells delicious! LOL!!! One of my coworks had steak and gravy today. OMG! I almost fainted.
