Veggie Straws
I had my lapband surgery 5-18-10 and my surgeon was Dr. Frank Felts in Colony, TX. I have recently I have been doing alot of snacking. I do mean alot and I am at 6cc's. Been 6 cc's since December 2011. In the last two weeks my band has been tighter than normal. Can't eat any solid foods for breakfast, not even junk food. Normally after 2pm I am able to get some foods done but still not the healthy foods I need to be eating. So I have recently discovered Veggie Straws and they go down just fine so that is what I have been eating along with my protein shakes. Well, the problem is, I can eat an entire bag before you know it.. Can someone explain what is going on and why am I craving snacks all of a sudden.. And NO I am not prego!!!!
CAN'T STOP... WON'T STOP....

The band is only there to help you reduce your intake, it won't reach out through your belly button and slap you upside your head, and tell you, " Uh uh you put that extra veggie straw back or I'll smack you."
Sometimes I wi**** would have.

Pumpkin, don't feel too bad. Those boxes have SHRUNK!! seriously....there were only 3 little rows of 5 caramel delights in one box. Surely there were more cookies in the boxes before.
5.0 cc in a 10cc lapband (four fills) 1 unfill of .5cc on 5/24/2011.
.5 fill March 2012. unfill of .25cc May 2012. Unfill of .5cc June 2014.
Still with my lapband with no plans for revision. Band working well since
last small unfill.

I'm not telling how many boxes I have eaten this season.

For me the more I snack on carbs or sweets the more I want....heck and if it's one of the only things you can eat of course you want it......
If things don't loosen up you'd might want to get a slight unfill.......although you said you are getting in protein shakes which is good but doesn't do much for staying full...
My band according to my Surgeon tightened on it's own....he said the stomach is like a muscle and in my case I guess I was a little too tight (even though I could put away a 3 oz steak) and that when the stomach has to work hard to push food through it works the muscle (stomach) and like any muscle it grew....not alot but enough that barium wouldn't go down.
I am with you though.....I can get carried away with any type of salty crunchy snack food....I have to keep them out of my house....... I tried getting just the little bags....just ate bag after bag...
So now I just don't keep them in the house.........
It would be nice if they qualified as a Veggie serving though...........

I got veggie straws and sweet potato fries for my kids for thier lunches, but of course I eat way too many in the evening for a snack. I felt so bad this morning, because my son was looking for some to make his lunch and they were all gone (I ate them last night). It is so easy for me to fall into the snack attack:( These evening cravings are killing my weight loss efforts.

I know exactly how you feel!! My band tightens up unexpectedly quite often, and I always turn to Cheetos or Veggie straws.......or some other UNHEALTHY salty and crunchy food that slides right on down.
I know that this is my bad, and I take full responsibility for it........but I also know I would do much better with an even keeled restriction level, one that is predictable and allows me to plan better for my meals. I am frrustrated also!! Good luck to both of us!
Pumpkin is right, we just have to take responsibility and keep them out of the house. The sodium alone is probably making our bands tighter than they should be at times!
