FREAKING OUT! 10lb gain in 1 week after injury

I agree with you I think it is probably fluid. Even 10 lbs. spread thru out your whole body (hence the clothes still fit) may not show externally but could very well be internal. I wouldn't worry till after all swelling goes down and that could take several weeks. Just glad you weren't seriously hurt!

Thank you so much for these stories. I'd never heard of this kind of internal swelling/weight gain before and it was getting me down.

This morning, I woke up without back pain for the first time in 2 weeks and I dropped 2.5lbs since yesterday morning on the scale. Coincidence? I think not!

I will continue eating well and have been slowly getting more active as the pain gets less and less so I'm sure I'll be back down to 180 in no time. It was super depressing to see 190 on the scale though when I still have 10 lbs to LOSE to get to my ultimate goal, not gain....dangit!

I wanted to report back and thank you all so much for the support during my little freakout. 17 days after my injury, all of my pain is gone, I've been able to resume normal exercise, AND I'm back down to a comfortable 179.6 lbs (my curreny record low stuck weight)  from being 190 a week ago. Wow, that was scary. But truly goes to show that things like bloating/swelling/water retention are real. I never quite believed it could be to that degree.
