Hello everyone,

I haven't logged in for quiet a while. I had my band surgery 10/07/10 and have lost a total of 54pounds .  I went from 292-238. I think I should have lost more had I been more discipline with exercise and right eating habits. Well I went yesterday to get another fill because I had  been eating more than I should. I normally get a fill and can't tolerate the tighteness and then go back the following day to get an unfil. This time I am tighter not being able to consume liquids hardly at all. I will drink then vomit it up..my question is do yousuggest that I go get a slight unfil or do I wait a coupl e of days to see if will loosen up itself. The reason I say that is because it normally does. Help me...Its Thurs. my dr. is not available because he is in surery tomorrow he will probably close early and MOnday they will be close...New Years!!!Any suggestions would be helpful...Do you thnk I should try dirnking warm liquids to loosen it?

can you sip water and keep it down?? I am like you I had surgery on 12/16/2010 and have lost only 61lbs. I wonder if had got more fills if I would be doing better. I have one unfill and went back the next month and had them put it back. I am really working on getting back on track. Doing protien shakes, sipping lots of water, and chewing my food, chew chewing, so it does not get stuck. Warm liquids do help. I also find that my band is very tight in the morning can hardly eat and than by evening it is all loosened up. Hope this helps a little let me know how it goes.

I can actually drink(NOT SIP) the water but it comes right back up. I tried chicken noodle soup because I was so hungry...i ate a couple of spoons and it also come back up...I sitting at my desk just pitiful. My co workers  just sympathes with me. they have been very supportive of me. I have got to get back on track . Another problem that I find that I have is that I drink and eat  together..in the past it has not been a problem as far as vomiting but I think it has slowed down my weightloss progress...And yes my band is tigher in the morning and late at nights ..go figure.

Well it won't untighten itself, so you need to go see your surgeon pronto! If you wait, it will make it worse.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you are having issues. I would recommend going to get a slight unfill. You don't want to be miserable over the weekend. If you are vomiting everytime you try to take liquids in, it's not going to get better with time. Warm liquids most likely won't help either. I have been too tight before and everything was coming back up, it just got worse after a couple of days waiting. Warm liquids wouldn't even go down and it was just sitting there for hours. I eventually had to go to the ER to get an unfill and then ended up passing out because of dehydration, not fun but I learned my lesson. I would recommend trying to get ahold of your doctor and see what they can do. Good Luck!

I was in the local ER begging for an unfilla day after a small fill. They would not do it because I didnt get my lap band there. My surgeon was 2 hours away and the local hospital DOES perform lap band but they wouldn't help me.
Bottom line. Get the small unfill. You will be miserable until you do.

I would suggest an unfill.  I had a problem similar to this, could not even get my own spit down.  Luckily the ER had someone on call to drain band, went to different hospital from surgery.  The longer you wait and keep vomiting, the worse things will get.  I was not able to get a fill again, had band removed last week.  Good luck

I was banded on 5-13-11 and I had my 5th fill today. I would go back and ask to have some removed, you don't want to be sick the entire weekend! Hope you feel better soon.
