Honestly mine changed as I lost weight. It was 10 months before I had any type of food intolerance. I'd say it was about 4-5 fills when I got that spot, but its still changing as I lose.

I think mine was around 5-7 fills.  I finally got a little restriction at  5 months out from surgery and 5cc's.  Then as I lost weight I had to keep getting them to keep restriction.  ;o)

As you can see from my very slow weight loss, it's taken at least three fills for me to feel the hard stop signals sooner.

Not to say I didn't feel them before, but it was almost to the point of "overeating" before I was able to feel a stop. Now, I feel it coming on a lot sooner, and the signal is more intense, so I avoid geting too close to that point, because discomfort  is just not worth it; plus, I'm concerned about the band eroding into my stomach or other complications  if there is too much pressure put on it.

I've never had any food intolerances, and was able to eat almost any food immediately after the post op swelling went down. To this day, I can eat bread, bagels, steak, chicken, pork chops, etc... Many of the foods that most people have trouble with. Obviously, I have to avoid the bagels and heavy breads, since they will slow down the weight loss no matter what program you are following.

I am due for another visit to the surgeon on Dec 29, almost 11 months post op. I hope he agrees to continue to fill me, because for a while, he would not.

Except for illnesses, I am a devoted exerciser, and walk, swim, do yoga and step aerobics once or twice a week for each activity, totalling over 10 hours a week on average. My calories are around 1000 per day and I see a nutritionist regularly. My metabolism is completely shot, because if any of these activities are eliminated, I often end up gaining, even on the 1000 calories.

I plan to work with a personal trainer once my fall graduate classes are over, when I'll have more time to spend in the gym.

All in all, this program takes a lot of time and hard work, and you have to be philosophical about it... As in "it didn't go on overnight, so it won't come off overnight!"
Good luck!

Cheers,

Mary

I'll let you know if I ever get there, lol. I had 16 fills in 15 month and NEVER got restriction/sweet spot/green zone.

Don't be surprised if it never occurs. One of the bandsters on here said the last bariatric surgeon she went to said about 20% of patients never reach restriction. Kinda sucks they don't tell you that BEFORE we get the band! Right?!

@Maria  Wow that is news to me.  I am surprised you received that many fills in that short of time.
