Food getting stuck....then coming back up...

I had lap band surgery February 16, 2011 and have 6 1/2 ccs in my band, I just went last Wednesday for  fill because I wasn't loosing any weight or having any restriction,  I was doing fine until today....everything I try to eat gets stuck and then I vomit it back up.  This has only happened to me 5 or 6 times over the past 9 months.  I wonder if my band is too tight???  I can drink fluids and it stays down.  Any advice would be appreciated...

It happens sometimes. Just go tomorrow and get a little bit of fill taken out.

If this just started today and as long as you can keep liquids  down, you could try going on a liquid diet for a day or so, just in case you have inflamed the tissue by the first vomit.

But if it continues, then you probably need a small unfill.

Sometimes it can take 3 days for a fill to kick in.  I would try to be very careful.  Take tiny bites, chew well, don't drink with your meals, etc.  If food is still coming up then you are too tight.  Don't wait too long because it's no way to live.  Just a tiny unfill can make a world of difference.  If you've been vomitting a lot you should stay on liquids for at least 24 hours.

Hang in there but call your Dr. once you've ruled out that you're not eating too fast, etc.!

Thanks for your comments.  I was able to eat some yogurt before bedtime last night and I ate some applesauce for breakfast.  Maybe I was eating too fast yesterday...

If that is the only type of food you can eat, then you are too tight!
