Real before/after tummy tuck pics
I found some older befores from a couple of months ago and took the afters on my cell phone this morning. To me, I can see a huge difference. I am still really swollen but the most amazing thing is that I have a normal looking abdomen (well, if you ignore the stitches and tubes!)
I have been maintaining 180 lbs for a while, I'm 5'7", and when I'm fully recovered I'd like to muscle up a bit more and get down to 170 but I am not your typical tummy tuck subject who has very little body fat left. If we were going by BMI, I should have waited till I weighed 150 to get this done but I decided that after a year at 180, eating and exercising well, this was a good place to be and it was time to move on with life and enjoy my new, even if still "overweight" body. Coming from morbidly obese, this feels wonderful. I am large framed and thick and muscular and I like it that way. Now I will be able to wear clothes without a bulging belly, I'm so excited!

Your clothing options are going to so much better now. And the 180 lbs. looks good on you. The BMI standards are OK for insurance companies but for real human beings, the BMI just does not tell the whole story.
Thanks for sharing the pix!

To be honest, I think BMI is bunk even for insurance companies. Even though I'm "overweight" my cholesterol is 120, my triglycerides are below the low end of the normal range, I can't even remember what it was like 30, I think... my BP is 110/70, there is no indication of ill health that should even remotely put me into a higher risk category. Yet I still get rejected for health insurance and charged more for life. Basing anything solely off someone's weight is a practice I intend to spend my life fighting against.
If you're serious about fighting weight discrimination, you should join the Obesity Action Coalition (obesityaction.org).
