My only goal in regards to my Lap Band experience is to,

1. Help those who have been injured by their bands.

2. Educate pre-ops on what the true definition of " minimally Invasive " really means and not what the general perception of it means as told by the makers of the Lap Band and their money grubbing minion doctors.

3. To get all LAGB off the market.

4. To start a class action lawsuit that will force Allergan, Johnson & Johnson, and the makers of the O Band to remove their inferior and dangerous product from the market.

For the safety of all those considering the band, I hope it is taken of the market! Allergan and Johnson & Johnson (EES) do NOT stand behind their products and I don't see how they can sleep at night knowing all the damage they have caused to so many bandsters!!! And worse yet........rather than stopping when they realize how ineffective/dangerous their products really are..............what do they do? They continue to market it as the "least invasive" and con thousands (if not millions) of overweight/obese people into getting their CRAP-BANDS!!!

Actually WORSE then that.......is the fact that Allergan is very close to finishing it's clinical trials on 14 year olds and submitting approval for implanting Lap Bands in 14 year olds to the FDA. Very soon the Lap Band will be aggressively marketed to 14 year olds. Can you imagine all the 14 year olds who will be screwed by the " ONE WLS per lifetime clause that is bound to become the norm will all the insurance companies.

These children don't stand a chance because uh 1, THEY ARE CHILDREN and cannot be expected to follow the insipid LAGB rules and 2. they will not be eligible for a revision due to the new ins co. rules. I hope the parents of those children figure out a way to get around those ins co. clauses based on the fact that their children are minors and as such are absolutely clueless..

Another concern with banding the children is the emotional stress this will cause them. I know for me the band has been a devistating experience! It's bad enough the band not working...........but to be blamed over and over by other bandsters, and told that I AM THE ONE THAT FAILED! Well I don't have to tell you how cruel some bandsters can be. I just hate the thought of some poor child getting the band after years of struggleing with their weight..........only to have the band fail and be blamed for causing it!!! Can you imagine what that could do to a child?! :-(

Wise words, especially when most of our insurance companies are adding the "one WLS per lifetime" clause. Even if another company paid for the first one, or you paid YOUR SELF,  they won't pay.

I bought the less invasive BS too, and thought reversible was a good thing. It's not.

Soooooooooo many of us got suckered in by that "least invasive" crap ! :-(

One thing I can say about the band manufacturers is they have done some wonderful marketing. Not honest.............but very effective for them. The band being the "least invasive" WLS has been their major selling point.
