What percentage of food do you eat now compared to the amount you ate before the band.
I eat about half of what I used to eat. Sometimes I can't believe what I used to eat, because it felt normal at the time. Sometimes I miss diving into something and really eating the heck out of it. But I DO NOT miss the consequences of doing that. I have eaten some Halloween candy, but no more and tomorrow it's 2 trips to Curves for Zumba. And back to protein first eating,
Bands can't stretch. But as we lose fat from round the stomach, the band gets looser, we can eat more- we need a fill.

25 - 50% now
When in a restaurant, I cut the meal into 1/4 ----and eat that
At home, I eat about 50% of what I used to eat
As others have said, you can't stretch your band -- it is fixed and it is stitched in place, it does not change.
If you overeat, you can stretch or distend your pouch ----
As you lose weight, your stomach will 'shrink' under the band, and you may need a fill
You may need to see your surgeon to see what is going on
What is true for me, is that I can eat 60 - 75% the amount of junk food that I used to eat (I could eat a whole bag of chips in 1 day if I tried) --- but I cannot eat more than 3 ounces of lean protein at 1 time without my band wanting me to stop.
So, it is not so much about the QUANTITY of food for me, but it is the QUALITY --- that is what helps me decide when I need another fill.
Not how much I can eat, but how much protein/veg do I have to eat to be satisfied but not stuffed

I would say that I eat about 50% of what I ate before. I'll qualify that by also adding that the food I eat today is much higher in lean protein and fiber, low in fat and carbs. I don't know if this is what most people find, but food with these attributes are "liked" better by my band and more easily digested and passed through the stomach. -- Tom
