eating problems -- advice needed please

I got my band in March.  I was doing well for about 5 months.  Very motivated, exercising regularly, eating right.  About a month ago I had some problems (sliming, PBing but no vomiting, getting stuck) so I had 1 cc removed from my realize band.  I currently have about 5 cc in there now.  Ever since I had the fluid removed I have felt no restriction.  I can eat anything I want.  And I do.  It is crazy -- I swore off ice cream and cookies, etc. before the band.  But now I can't get enough of them.  I am also not motivated at all to exercise.  I feel tired, cranky and unmotivated.  I take anti-depressants but feel off.  I called the doctor to get a fill but I need to wait 3 more weeks so any inflmation can heal from before I got the fluid removed.  I know what I need to do -- eat right and exercise.  I just can't seem to get motivated at all.  I don't want to damage my band and I don't want to gain back all of the weight I lost when I was doing well (about 40 lbs.).  Maybe it is a seasonal thing as I always feel this way in the fall/winter.  I'm just scared it is going to get worse.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I would appreciate any feedback you can give me.  Thank you.  Josie

Josie,

Sounds like you need just a little fill. Maybe 1/8th or 1/4 cc would you give you enough restriction, without causing the sliming and PBing, to help you get back on track.

Sorry that you are having a hard time! But i think its important that you remind yourself of your progress so far! Sure the icecream and cookies may be a nice treat or snack... but look @ the bigger picture! You are on your way to being a happier and healthier you and no cookie in the world tastes better than that!! Good luck!

You need to just get a grip and remember why you had this surgery in the first place.  You are going to have to detox from the sugar and carbs that you have been ingesting.  Some folks have no resistance to them, once you start you cant stop.  If that is the case, you are going to have to cold turkey.  Drink lots and lots af water, make sure you are getting plenty of solid protien to keep you full and make your mind up that you are better than this.  You can do it.  I have faith in you.

1st, remind yourself how far you have come. SO often we shrug off all our hard work and sucess because of a few unhappy weigh-ins! 2nd, make an appointment to get a fill. They may only need to put in half a cc and you will get your restriction back.
As far as the sugars and processed junk: my best advice is to amp up your water intake and throw everything tempting away. I believe you can become dependent on high sugar foods. The best thing to do is find a temporary "less-fun" substitute (like apples or grapes****il the sugar-jones goes away. Once the urge passes for junk food you will enjoy natural sugars again.
Good luck! You are not alone.
